astrology human design yoga life purpose

How to find your purpose in life and become the best version of yourself based on ancient wisdom

Did you ever have the feeling of not fitting in or feeling somewhat uncomfortable but you cannot pinpoint the reason for this sensation? I’m sure everyone has experienced a phase of discomfort in their life. When things just don’t feel like they flow and there is a dissonance between the way things should feel and the way they actually feel. The reason could be a specific situation you’re in, a relationship, your job, or the environment you’re living in. When out of alignment with your true purpose in life, exactly this sentiment of feeling disconnected can rise to the surface. When that happens it shows in various forms, you might get stressed out a lot more than usual, your digestion plays tricks on you, and you feel fatigued or get sick more often. In other words, your immune system and mental health suffer from periods like that. In order to get back on track you sometimes need to take a break from your everyday life. Get rid of some of the distractions you use to not think about this unpleasant feeling. Some common distractions include filling your schedule and constantly going out, watching too much TV, being on social media all day, drinking, unhealthy diet, and the list goes on. In moments like this, a good amount of solitude and a deep dive into your soul, desires, and being can make a huge difference. The prerequisite to find back to your own purpose, and become the best version of yourself is to be open enough to accept the unknown. As a matter of fact, we always live in the unknown, our own minds just play tricks on us to make us feel safe and secure, like we already know what happens next. The truth is, we have no idea what happens one second from now, so why not just accept it?

For a long time, I felt like I just existed on this planet instead of actually living to my fullest potential. I did what had to be done, or in better words what is socially and culturally accepted and expected. So I went to school, picked a university, picked another university, found a job, did the 9-5, and eventually got pregnant at the worst time ever. Well, honestly there is no right or wrong timing for anything because according to the universe, everything serves its purpose and there are no coincidences, but let’s put it that way: it wasn’t an easy situation for me. Facing a hard time, I did a reset, deep dive, and really started to get into meditation, yoga, chakra balancing, and journaling in order to reestablish harmony in my life. Back then I didn’t know where the journey is going to take me, but I’m more than grateful for the many doors that opened up for me.

Most of the time we identify with our experiences, things we’ve learned growing up, and social/cultural conditioning. Living like that takes us away from our true selves and puts fear-induced limitations upon us. I’m not saying that everything is bad, some experiences were necessary lessons, certain things we learned growing up helped us react to specific situations, and some social rules are necessary to ensure safety and peace. What I mean is that it’s important to sometimes let go of what other people think and consciously observe what you need and want in life.

Here’s what I have learned over the years to get closer to who I am meant to be as well as be the best version of myself:

+ Yoga And Meditation to Reconnect With Yourself And Restore Physical As Well As Mental Balance

When I first started with Yoga I have seen it more like a workout and didn’t know too much about the healing effect it can have on our mind and body. The more I practiced it, the better I felt, so I started to do some research to really get the best out of my practice. The results were mind-blowing. Doing daily yoga and meditation practice has tremendously increased my energy levels. My mind was clear and my ability to focus on things and not get distracted was taken to a new level. Since my awareness was sharpened I also felt super connected with my body. Something I didn’t feel in a long time. As I mentioned earlier I felt like I just existed on this planet but I didn’t live to my full potential. I’m pretty sure you’ve heard about the positive effects of yoga but now you’re probably wondering how and why. So here’s the thing: Through the practice of yoga asanas (postures), you develop physical strength, flexibility, and balance. Many poses require a high amount of concentration since you need to balance your body and be still. While helping your body to find its equilibrium you cultivate physical as well as mental coordination and stability. Yoga is not just about the physical aspect; it also encompasses breath control and mindfulness practices. These aspects of yoga help calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote emotional balance. By focusing on the present moment and observing your thoughts without judgment during your yoga practice, you cultivate a sense of mental clarity and inner peace. Furthermore, according to yogic philosophy, the body contains energy pathways known as nadis, and energy centers called chakras. Yoga postures and breathwork help to open up these energy channels, allowing for the smooth flow of vital energy throughout the body. When energy flows freely it promotes vitality, balance, and harmony. After each yoga session, I made it a ritual for me to add a short guided meditation to it. When I have enough time I am trying to also incorporate a morning and/or evening meditation. I use meditation as a form of stress reduction/ healing/ mindfulness exercise. Therefore whenever I feel disconnected, overwhelmed or certain things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go, I make some time to sit still and go inward. In addition to that I have also started to pay attention to my energy centers, my chakras. Whenever I feel blocked in a particular area of life, I am paying extra attention to the chakra associated with that specific situation, and do yoga postures that help open up that energy center. Another helper when trying to open chakras is crystals or gemstones. Those healing stones possess specific energies and vibrations that can help balance and align the chakras. Check out my chakra healing bracelets here and get one for your next yoga session.

+ Journaling And Manifestation As Tools For Self-Discovery And Personal Growth

Journaling is a powerful way to reflect on who you are now. You can better understand yourself by writing down thoughts, feelings, experiences, and values. Journaling provides a space where you can also explore personal goals, and passions, patterns, and desires can emerge in this process, providing a clearer vision of your true purpose. While doing this you can also identify strengths and weaknesses you can work with or work on to become the best version of yourself. It’s a source of support and motivation. We all know life has its ups and downs and this is your personal record of what you’ve achieved so far while noticing the importance of downs which are the most significant source of growth. Journaling can also help you get where you want and need to be in life. That’s when we start talking about manifestation. Manifestation is a technique that involves a clear intention, focus, devotion, visualization, and belief to attract desired outcomes into your life. It starts with a clear intention about what you want to manifest in your life. As I mentioned before, this intention might emerge while journaling. Visualization is a critical component of manifestation. You have to truly see yourself in the situation you want to get to, your life purpose. Write about it, and talk to yourself as if you’ve already accomplished it. This is an exercise where you create a mental image of what it feels and looks like, which will motivate you to take action. And this is the next component, ACTION! Just by wishing your dreams to come true, they will not magically happen. Yes, a good amount of trust in the universe is always good, but you gotta act on your desires. Nevertheless, by having a clear, aligned mind and vision, you’re more likely to see and embrace opportunities showing up in your life. In other words, you’re open to letting it happen and taking the steps needed to get closer to your true purpose in life.

+ Astrology And Your Birth Chart As Means To Understand Yourself Better

“Astrology is an ancient science that uses observation of the planetary cycles and movements over time to record patterns and events triggered by the movement of the cosmos.” Louise Edington
Based on Albert Einsteins’ theory of relativity, as well as the concepts of many thinkers and philosophers the statement “Everything is energy, and the whole universe is connected” emerged. Putting this into perspective, every cycle, movement, and even thought can have an effect on us. There’s a good chance that planetary movement and the position of the planets at the time we were born have an impact on us. I know astrology is a very difficult topic since it also involves a good amount of mysticism and not everyone believes in it. I used to be one of them. How the hell could my horoscope be accurate, there are so many people out there who are a Taurus in their sun sign. It didn’t make any sense to me until I researched it, because somehow I was constantly confronted with that subject. So here’s the thing: Astrology, especially the analysis of your birth chart can tell you a whole lot about your personality and in general who you are born to be. It is a helpful tool for self-discovery and offers insights into the life direction most aligned with your true nature. For an analysis, you need the date, time, and place of your birth. Based on this you can obtain your personal chart and it contains valuable information about your personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas of focus. The sun sign, commonly referred to as the zodiac, represents your core identity and essence. The Moon sign in your birth chart represents your emotional nature, needs, and inner world. Understanding your Moon sign and its aspects can shed light on what brings you emotional fulfillment and a sense of purpose. By aligning your activities and life choices with your emotional needs, you can work towards a more meaningful and purposeful life. The Descendant can provide insights into an individual’s approach to relationships, and partnerships, and how they navigate the realm of interpersonal connections. An individual birth chart is very complex and provides a lot more information than just the sun, moon, and descendants, and should be done by an experienced astrologer.

+ Human Design And Learning Your Unique Energetic Blueprint

Human design is a part science part spiritual system developed by Robert Alan Krakower or better known as Ra Uru Hu, and combines astrology, the I Ching, the Kabbalah, and the chakra system. It is based on the idea that each one of us has a unique energetic blueprint that determines our individuality and how we interact with the world. Every person has a specific and unique human design configuration with a clear strategy. You have your own way of becoming successful, your own way to live life in fulfillment, your own way your dreams are gonna come true. The instruction manual on how to move through the world is custom to you. Human design invites you to participate in a potentially life-transforming living experiment that provides you with the needed tools and information to live life as your authentic and true self. The term “Human Design” reflects the core concept of the system, and emphasizes that every person has a specific role and purpose in this world and that by aligning with their authentic nature, they can live a more fulfilling and meaningful life. The human design chart or body graph is a precise map and user guide that gives you access to how we are genetically designed to engage with the world and how our unique inner guidance system operates. Your chart tells you who you really are and helps you to go through life under constantly changing circumstances successfully. It shows you ways how to make moment-moment decisions that will help your unique life purpose unfold naturally. The chart will help you deal with limitations like frustration, anger, disappointment, and bitterness since it points out the origin of these emotions and provides solutions to navigate out of uncomfortable situations, or even avoid them. A big part is also relationship dynamics. It guides you through concepts on how you’re supposed to show up as yourself in a relationship situation in order to create a relaxed and smooth atmosphere. Using the strategies and tools provided in your chart you can live up to your full potential and apply it to any area of your life like for example your business. One of the most important outcomes, for me as a mother is that it shows us how to create the best environment for children so that they are empowered to be their unique selves.
Here’s an example of a body graph, and there are various websites where you can have your individual unique human design body graph calculated. If you’re interested check this out. The human design chart typically consists of several elements, including:
Type: There are five types in human design, namely Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Each type is said to have different energetic qualities and ways of interacting with the world.
Centers: Human design charts feature nine energy centers, each corresponding to specific aspects of life, such as emotions, communication, intuition, and identity. The openness or definition of these centers is said to influence an individual’s energy dynamics and personality traits.
Gates: The chart includes 64 gates, which represent specific traits and characteristics. These gates are associated with the hexagrams of the I Ching and are believed to influence different aspects of an individual’s life and experiences.
Channels: Channels are formed by connecting two gates. They represent the flow of energy and provide insights into an individual’s strengths, talents, and potential challenges.
Profile: The profile in human design refers to a combination of two numbers, often presented as an X/Y format (e.g., 3/5 or 4/6). These numbers indicate specific personality traits and life themes.
Authorities: Human design recognizes different decision-making authorities, such as emotional, sacral, splenic, and self-projected authorities. These authorities suggest the most reliable way for an individual to make decisions based on their unique energetic makeup.
