The new season is about to begin and I think everybody’s excited to put the long coats and jackets away again and treat themselves to some new, inspiring, and mood-enhancing attire. Here are some of the key trends, spotted on the runways for SS21.
1 Candy Cotton Pastels
Designers are using calming neutrals and soft pastel colors as a mood enhancer for SS21. After a rather dark and gloomy lockdown winter, I think many of us are excited to see some nice colors in the upcoming season.
2 Silver Glam
The metallic trend will be relevant this season. With many silver silhouettes walking down the shows, presenting sequins, shiny spikes, or sexy ribbing in mesh and crystals. Designers make sure that even through lockdown, there won’t be a shortage in party clothing.
3 Masks
Masks have defined our outer appearance throughout 2020 and have become the little accessory of everyday life. This season’s designs will make it easier for us to look stunning and stay healthy.
4 Exposed Underwear
Reviving the end of the ’90s, the visible thong is back on the runway. Exposed underwear will be on focus this year.
5 Net
Another 90’s trend visible on many shows is the fishnet. We can see it in all forms, under the dress, over the dress, or in the form of tights. It’s a nice add on to a cool outfit throughout the day or at night.
6 Leather
Leather in all forms: Biker-jacket, Trench, Pants, Blazer, or Coat. Leather is definitely a must-have for Spring.
7 Short Shorts
The shorter the better is the motto – Let’s get ready for a hot summer ☀️
8 The Trench
Oversized, maxi, midi, colorful, or traditional. The trench is definitely another piece we should all consider to add to our spring/summer equipment.
